A Small Farm With Big Dreams.....

Let me introduce us.  My name is Denise Coonley and for 18 years  I was a stay at home mom, but no more.  Our kiddo is off on his own life's adventure as he should be.  My husband, Rusty, is a pilot for UPS and is gone as often as he is home.  So, needless to say I was looking for something to do that would keep my happy, busy and fill that 'gotta take care of somebody' gene that I seem to have.

Two and a half years ago, I saw my first alpaca on a tv commercial. Rusty and I started visiting alpaca farms and met so many nice people and saw so many beautiful aninmals. I was in love with alpacas just from the tv commercial; Rusty, he feel in love with alpacas at Perdue's in Paradise in Taylorsville, when Charmer gave him a kiss on the nose. She now lives at our house (and has the most beautiful crias) along with 10 others.

Now, I'll be honest.  I do still, from time to time, suffer from the whole empty nest thing.  But, alpacas have given me a whole new life.  I love everything about them, halter training, herd health, poop scooping, cria birthing, breeding, you name it and I love it.  I also love to work with their fiber.  I love to spin their fiber into yarn and then weave rugs, pillows, scarves and recently I've begun to design woven, felted purses.  The fiber arts industry is growing and I intend to be part of it.

Our philosophy is simple.  Quality animals that are healthy, happy and just a little bit spoiled, and personalised customer service both before and after any purchase.  We are striving to improve our already excellent bloodlines so that our alpacas continue to have superior fleece and perfect conformation.  We're still a little new but we learn more every day and look forward to sharing what we know with you.

Come see us sometime.........
